MMS stands for Multimedia Messaging Service. In short it is the successor of SMS (Short Message Service) with the enhancements that you can not only send text but basically any content type your phone can handle such as images, text, videos, ring tones and audio clips.

What is MMS Gallery?

MMS Gallery is a JoyFone site feature that allows people to send MMS messages from their mobile phones containing text, images/photos, sound files and movie clips so they will be stored and presented on the web. All subscribers have their own MMS Gallery pages with only their postings on. JoyFone users can share their MMS messages with friends or make them visible to all site visitors in the MMS blog.

Advantage of the MMS Gallery posting method: there is no special cost for sending MMS messages other then regular WAP/GPRS traffic cost. Regular MMS message cost depends on operator and in some cases may reach $0.50 per message.

JoyFone users have a choice to keep their MMS messages private, share them with their friends or make it visible to anyone visiting JoyFone MMS blog. Only registered users can post their comments in the MMS blog.

Do I need a phone with camera to use MMS Gallery?

In order to send your own messages you need to have a camera phone or MMS-compatible phone. You can also receive and store messages from your friends who have MMS-compatible phones, just provide them with instructions on how to use this service.

How to use this service?

In order to send and store MMS messages you have to ensure that your phone supports MMS messaging and your operator has not blocked external MMS servers. Follow simple instructions to start sending and storing MMS messages:

1. Set the phone's MMSC (may also be labeled Service Center, MMS Center, or MMS Server) to http://joyfone.com/app/portal/mms.aspx
2. In the message "To" or "Recepient" field provide registered JoyFone user name (or user@joyfone.com).

How much do I have to pay?

This service is free for active JoyFone subscribers: they can send and receive unlimited number of messages as soon as total size of stored media doesn't exceed 5000 Kb. Any registered user can send and store only one MMS message.
